# Share Link

The Share Link is the fastest way to get your playable in front of someone. It generates a URL that opens a live, fully interactive version of your project in any browser. Send it to teammates and clients for review, or scan the QR code to test on a real device.

***

### Creating a Share Link

Open the **Share Link** popup from the editor toolbar. The popup contains everything you need to share the project:

* **QR code**. Scan it with a phone or tablet to open the playable directly on that device. This is the quickest way to test touch interactions on real hardware.
* **Default Size**. Sets the size the playable opens in when someone visits the link. It starts with the same size as your project by default, but you can override this to one of the other share link sizes available.
* **Lock Size**. Locks the link to the selected size. Viewers won't see the size dropdown on the share link page and can't switch sizes.
* **COPY URL**. Copies the link to your clipboard. A *Link Copied* toast confirms the copy.
* **OPEN LINK**. Opens the share link in a new browser tab.

You can also create a Share Link without opening the editor. On the **Projects** tab, open a project's menu and choose **Share Link**. If the project has more than one variant, **Share Link** opens a list of its variants: pick the one you want to share. Each variant gets its own link, and the share page title shows the project and variant name.

### The Share Link Page

Anyone who opens the link sees your playable front and center, running exactly as it does in the Preview. A **Restart** button below the playable replays the project from the beginning.

The toolbar at the top of the page includes a few viewing controls:

* The **restart** button restarts the playable
* The **PLAY** button takes you back to the project (if you have a account).
* **Orientation** buttons switch between portrait (`P`) and landscape (`L`).
* The **size dropdown** switches between your project's sizes; each row lists its number key (`1`–`4`). It's hidden if the link was created with **Lock Size** on.
* The **volume** button mutes and unmutes audio (`M`).
* The **QR code** button opens a QR code for the link (`Q`), handy for jumping from desktop to a mobile device.
* The **analytics** button opens the [Analytics Monitor](/play/preview-and-share/analytics-event-monitor.md), a live feed of every event the playable fires.
* If your project uses [Dynamic Content](/play/properties/dynamic-content.md), condition menus also appear on the share link so you can test every variant.

{% hint style="info" %}
*Browsers may block audio until the viewer interacts with the playable. If audio doesn't start immediately on a share link, this is browser autoplay behavior, not a project issue.*
{% endhint %}

### URL Parameters

Two parameters can be appended to a copied share link URL:

* `&ratio=xx:xx` opens the link at a specific size, for example `&ratio=9:16`.
* `&lock=true` hides the size dropdown, locking the link to the size set with `&ratio`.

The **Lock Size** toggle and **Default Size** dropdown handle this for you when creating the link. The parameters are useful when you already have a link and want to adjust it by hand, or when you want one project shared at several fixed sizes.

### Template Share Links

When opening the template preview, you can generate a share link using the popup with the QR code, **COPY URL**, and **OPEN LINK** properties to configure. Size controls aren't included.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.craftsmanplus.com/play/preview-and-share/share-link.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
