# Slide To Reveal

A before-and-after reveal. The player drags a slider across the play area to uncover the image behind.

Slide To Reveal splits the play area between two images with a draggable slider. As the player drags the slider, more of the **Back Image** is revealed. Score follows the slider's position.

Use it for before and after comparisons, upgrades, or transformations.

### Layers

* **Slider** is the handle the player drags. Its horizontal position and rotation are controlled by the game.
* **Front Image** is the image covering the play area.
* **Back Image** is revealed as the slider moves. Turn off **Back Image** in the Game tab to reveal whatever is behind the game layer instead.

### Game Settings

**Layout**

* **Slide Direction** sets which way the slider moves to reveal the Back Image: **Left** or **Right**. Default is **Right**.
* **Starting Percentage** sets how far across the slider starts, from **0** to **99%**. Default is **50%**.
* **Back Image** shows or hides the Back Image layer. Default is **on**.

### Progression

| Variable            | Default | What it does                                                 |
| ------------------- | ------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Starting Score** | 0 | Added to the Score at every slider position. |
| **Score Per Slide** | 100 | The Score added when the slider is moved all the way across. |

Triggers can watch **Score**. Score is based on where the slider is, not how far the player has dragged, so:

* The game starts with Score already partway up. At the default 50% Starting Percentage, Score begins at about 50.
* Dragging the slider back lowers the Score again.

**Example trigger:** Score **Reaches** 100, action starts your end card scene. With the defaults, this fires when the slider reaches the far edge.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.craftsmanplus.com/play/layers/game-mechanics/slide-to-reveal.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
