# Projects

Find, organize, and manage your projects: views, folders, search, filters, selecting multiple projects, and project and folder actions.

The **Projects** tab holds every project your company has made. Use it to find a project, organize projects into folders, and act on one project or many at once.

To start something new, click **New Project** in the top right. See [Creating a Project](/navigation/projects/creating-a-project.md).

***

### Views and Folders

The panel on the left controls what the listing shows.

**Views**

* **All Projects** shows every project, including the projects inside folders. This is the default.
* **Favorites** shows every project you've favorited, wherever it's stored.
* **Archive** shows archived projects and folders. See [Archive](#archive).

**Folders**

The **Folders** list shows your folders and the folders inside them. Hover a folder and click its arrow to show or hide its subfolders.

* **Click a folder** to show only the projects in it. Select more than one folder to see the projects from all of them together. Click **All Projects** to clear the folder filter.
* **Create a folder** with the **+** next to **Folders**. With one folder selected, the new folder is created inside it.
* **New projects** are created in the selected folder.

{% hint style="info" %}
Selecting a folder shows the projects directly inside it. Select a subfolder to see the projects in it.
{% endhint %}

### Finding Projects

The toolbar above the listing helps you find what you're looking for. Search, filters, and sort all apply within the view or folders you've selected.

* **Search:** type in **Search Projects...** to find projects by name.
* **Filter:** click the filter icon and choose **Playables**, **Banners**, **Statics**, or any combination. The icon turns orange while a filter is on. Click **Reset Filter** to clear it.
* **Sort:** sort by **Name**, **Last Modified**, **Date Created**, or **Created by**, and use the arrow to switch between ascending and descending. Your sort is remembered.

#### Tile and List View

Use the view toggle at the top of the left panel to switch between **Tile View** and **List View**.

* **Tile View** shows each project as a thumbnail with its name and type.
* **List View** shows a row per project with its **Name**, **Project Type**, **Last Modified**, **Date Created**, and **Created By**. Click a column header to sort by it.

***

### Selecting Projects

* **Click** a project or folder to select it. **Double-click** to open it.
* **Shift + click** selects everything between two items.
* **Cmd + click** (Ctrl + click on Windows) adds or removes one item from the selection.
* **Cmd + A** (Ctrl + A) selects every project and folder in the current view.
* In Tile View, hover a project and click the circle in its corner to add it to the selection.

You can select projects, folders, or a mix of both. Press **Esc** or click an empty space to clear the selection.

### Project and Folder Actions

Hover a project or folder and click **Options** (the three dots), or right-click it, to open its menu. With several items selected, open **Options** on any of them to act on the whole selection. The menu shows how many items are selected.

| Action              | Projects | Folders | Multiple items                       |
| ------------------- | -------- | ------- | ------------------------------------ |
| **Archive**         | Yes      | Yes     | Yes                                  |
| **Favorite** | Yes | No | Yes, for the projects selected |
| **Duplicate** | Yes | No | Yes, when only projects are selected |
| **Move**            | Yes      | Yes     | Yes                                  |
| **Rename**          | Yes      | Yes     | One item at a time                   |
| **Share Link**      | Yes      | No      | One project at a time                |
| **Thumbnail**       | Yes      | No      | One project at a time                |
| **Create Template** | Yes      | No      | One project at a time                |

Actions your role doesn't allow are hidden. See [Roles & Permissions](/company-settings/users/roles-and-permissions.md).

* **Archive** moves items to the Archive after you confirm. Archiving a folder archives everything inside it, including its subfolders.
* **Favorite** adds projects to your **Favorites** view. Favorited projects show a star. Choose **Unfavorite** to remove them.
* **Duplicate** makes a copy of a project, named with **(Copy)** at the end. For one project, you can rename the copy before it's made. For several, each copy is named automatically.
* **Move** opens a folder picker. Choose a folder, or create a new one, and click **Move**. You can also drag projects and folders onto a folder in the left panel.
* **Rename** changes the name. If another project or folder in the same place already has that name, you'll see a warning, but you can still save it.
* **Share Link** creates a link to preview the project. For a project with several variants, choose which variant to share. See [Share Link](/play/preview-and-share/share-link.md).
* **Thumbnail** lets you upload a custom thumbnail image for the project, square and under 1MB.
* **Create Template** turns the project into a template your company can start new projects from, and opens the [Templates](/navigation/templates.md) page.

### Archive

Projects and folders are archived rather than deleted, so nothing is lost by mistake. Archived items leave All Projects, Favorites, and the folder list, and appear in the **Archive** view.

In the Archive view, open **Options** on an item, or on a selection, to:

* **Restore** it. Items return to the folder they came from. If that folder is archived or no longer exists, they return to the top level. Restoring a folder restores everything inside it.
* **Delete** it permanently. Deleting a folder also deletes everything inside it.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Deleting from the Archive is permanent and can't be undone.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.craftsmanplus.com/navigation/projects.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
