# Views

Choose how CRAFTSMAN INTELLIGENCE appears on screen with Popup, Panel, Fullscreen, and Window views.

CRAFTSMAN INTELLIGENCE can be displayed in four different views, so you can keep the assistant where it works best for you: floating over your project, docked beside it, filling the page, or in its own browser window. You can switch views at any time, and your current conversation comes with you.

### Changing the View

Click the **Change View** button in the top-right corner of the chatbot, next to the close button. A menu opens with four options: **Popup View**, **Panel View**, **Fullscreen View**, and **Window View**. The view you're currently using is indicated in the menu.

Select any option to switch immediately. Your chat contents and history carry across every switch, so you never lose a message by changing views.

***

### Popup View

Popup View is the default. The chatbot opens as a floating window in the bottom-right corner of the page, layered over whatever you're working on. It's the quickest way to ask a question and get back to your project.

***

### Panel View

Panel View docks the chatbot to the side of the screen so it sits alongside your workspace instead of over it. Your project or page content adjusts to make room, which makes Panel View a good fit for longer sessions where you're referencing the assistant while you work.

***

### Fullscreen View

Fullscreen View expands your current chat into a full-page layout, the same view you get when opening CRAFTSMAN INTELLIGENCE from the Dashboard. Your conversation moves to the center of the page, and a **Chat History** rail on the left lists your saved chats for quick switching.

When you're finished, click **Go Back** at the bottom of the left rail. You'll return to the project or page the chat started in. The chatbot will be closed when you return, so click the **CRAFTSMAN INTELLIGENCE** button to open it again.

***

### Window View

Window View opens the chatbot in a completely separate browser window. You can move and resize this window freely, including dragging it to a second monitor, so the assistant stays visible without covering any part of your workspace.

The original browser tab keeps working as normal while the chatbot is open in its own window. Closing the chatbot window returns the assistant to the view it was in before you switched, back in the original tab. You can also switch to any other view directly from the Change View menu inside the window.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.craftsmanplus.com/intelligence/chatbot/views.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
